He certainly could do that.  And hopefully he learned a valuable lesson from his father's unsuccessful trajectory toward a college coaching career.  The correct order is:

Successful high school H.C. --> college assistant --> college coordinator --> college H.C. --> win

and most important - If you get that break, PLEASE DO NOT hire two high school coordinators

He isn't ready and is under qualified for that spot.  This has shaken the HS coaching ranks.

Wonder if Lineweaver was an insurance add on?

May be moving into the AD spot, but without a doubt it's to make sure he learns all the ins and outs of being a HC.  There is a lot that goes into it that most people don't realize.  Especially at that level.

SLC has the cheating system down pat that assures the top athletes get funneled to them while the UIL looks the other way.

He'll do just fine.

Is there like a forum for this where HS coaches comments?  I'd like to see that.  For science.

Looks like they were trying and nearly succeeded in getting Papa Todd to come home:

No idea if there is a spot or not, however Dad pulled out of the gig late, because he realized Riley would be able to get it if he stayed put.  There is still a chance dad ends up back at SLC in the AD role.

I always figured he'd become AD at Westlake and stay there forever -- it's' kinda a family business down there.

In-laws business.  TD made his mark at SLC.
