Interesting development.  I don't remember Southern Miss's defense being spectacular, but I've slept since then.

I all fairness, I don't know of many college defenses that are all that spectacular in the present day game.

USM actually had one of the better defenses in the league up until playing us. They slipped a little but were still very solid overall

I imagine 9 out of 10 coaches would rather coach at USM (the other one is henpecked).  But Kiffin is much more likely to be coaching at a P5 in 2019, potentially bringing staff members with him.
