The Ragin' Cajuns continued their hot play by registering road wins at Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee last week, taking a one-game lead over North Texas in the Western division. The Golden Eagles visit Lafayette on Thursday and have been playing very well, using a deep rotation of players to put together their most successful start since joining the conference.

Again i say....WHy dont these "professionals" get it right???? Research is easy! Gimme five minutes and a random schools name and i am pretty sure i can figure out what the hell their mascot or team name is!

The most ironic thing is that there is no Eagle anywhere in our name. It was changed to the Mean Green 4 years ago for ALL teams (men and woman) except women's b-ball. The reason why our releases always get screwed up is because we contradict ourselves.

have we ever been the "golden eagles" maybe the green eagles or the mean green eagles. perhaps even the mildly unpleasant green eagles, but golden??

I think even women's basketball has switched to Mean Green as of this year. I could be wrong, but the announcers at the games this year have called them the Mean Green as opposed to Lady Eagle's.

I noticed that too. Which makes me wonder why Lady Eagles is still on the court. Maybe they will paint over that this off season if they have indeed changed the womens team name to Mean Green.
