NT should have beat MTSU, but when NT's only reliable offensive threat is having an off game; it is likely to turn out bad.  MTSU was good defensively, but not that good.   NT misses way too many easy shoots.

I dislike their coach more than any other in the conference, and apparently NT hasn't beat MTSU since Mitchell was a player.

Not quite. We haven't won in Murfreesboro since Mitchell was a player. We most recently beat them in 2006 in Denton.  Since then there have been some very, very lopsided losses.

If you watched the game, it at least appeared to me that NT had the better team and the past makes absolutely no difference.  MTSU just made a lot more of their shots as NT chose to collapse on their posts and leave a lot of uncontested threes.

Yes, many of the scores are lopsided because their coach delights in running up the score on everybody.   I've seen him with a forty point lead with his starters still in the game.   A complete ass in my opinion.

However, he is obviously a very good coach and one of the minority who goes directly from high school to be a very successful college coach.

Seemed like MTSU always had a 3-pointer just at the right time to end a run. We can compete with them. Maybe another chance is forthcoming.
