For those who have relatives/loved ones with Alzheimers

My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers at the same time that she was diagnosed with diabetes. For anyone out there with relatives/loved ones who have been diagnosed with Alzaheimers, you might find this interesting.

Sorry to hear about your mother @SilverEagle. Alzheimer’s is such a complicated disease because there is no one known cause, but rather a list of associated deficiencies. The prime suspect is the loss of cholinergic synapses to the hippocampus. I have hope that we’ll make some progress on curing it in the next 25 years.

Like Cancer,  It's actually a cruel and insidious disease.  She passed away the day after Christmas in 2003 from heart failure. Like Cancer, no one actually dies from Alzheimer's, they die from complications brought on by the disease.......most often pneumonia.
