It's a nice window dressing but perception is reality. UNT can't beat nor outrecruit Houston or SMU though.

The reality is that SMU and Houston suck.  And will in perpetuity.

You know, you really should find other ways to validate your existence since My Little Pony State doesn't fulfill your life.

No, it's not.

In our post-truth age, many think facts no longer matter. But they do. Perception is not reality. It’s our own invisible hazmat suit that engulfs us

Read this from from Ogilvy.com to start, but there are literally dozens of article that show perception does not trump facts.

It's going to require a few more people to write a couple more checks...

I don’t understand how writing checks really helps advance the IPF.

SMU sucks yet UNT lost to them and would have lost to Houston had they played them.

SMU and Houston's qbs Hicks and King respectively would both start over Fine if they were at UNT or vice versa. SMU and Houston's recruiting classes are in the Top half of FBS while UNT flounders near the bottom.

UNTs best team in God knows how many years got destroyed by a Sun Belt team. So if they suck then what does that make UNT?

You mean the conference offensive player of the year? Get outta here with that.

A certain percentage of the cost has to come from donated funds. They haven't raised that amount yet.

As soon as that amount is raised they can move forward.

It makes NT the team that beat the same 6-6 LA Tech team that took My Little Pony State behind the shed without lube.

Hicks and King would not start over Fine, period.  SMU beat us due to a terrible defensive game plan. You all just completed your most successful season in ages, lost your coach, new coach already lost the respect of the team and you all will head back down the totem pole.

UH was done when Herman left. Applewhite isn't the answer, and recruiting will suffer as a reflection of their record. Their top QB recruit already left and they have pissed off a local high school. Also headed south.

Troy would destroy My Little Pony U.

Able to fill more than 1/4 of a 16,000 seat stadium during a bowl game?

Able to beat a La Tech team that curb stomped SMU?

We have 0 defense and 0 reason to believe it will improve. We were historically bad on defense and if there are no changes made that will be a mistake. It doesn't matter what our damn record is when 7 or 8 of the team's on this little list can continually cat call 7 or 8 out of every 10 recruits away from us. It means nothing until that improves.

9-5, while SMU is 7-6 & Cougar High is 7-5.

Why argue...SMU and Houston were better team's this year regardless of record. I mean some are talking shit when SMU took us out back...After spotting us 10.

There's a fine old tradition of supporting your university.  You may want to try it some day.

This is what I understand. President Smatty will match donations to any initiative on campus, not just athletics. Athletics needed to raise around $8-9 million. Last I heard, was about a million away. That was a few weeks ago. I'd guess they are getting close.

They won't listen to you since you aren't drinking green kool-aid. These are the same guys that thought McCarney was an elite coach and Brock Berglund would win the Heisman.

I don't disagree with some of your points, however, we lost to a Troy that went into Baton Rouge and beat LSU. We lost to SMU for sure. SMU lost to La Tech who we beat. These days it's kinda splitting hairs at the G5 level to argue about who's the king of the little pond. Houston will typically out recruit SMU and SMU will typically out recruit North Texas. However, both schools find gems who end up being awesome and going to the league. All the aforementioned schools are looking better these days which I like for Texas football. (All of the state, not as in UT.) Maybe we beat SMU in Denton next year, maybe not. I'll have my money on us with SMU losing that stud receiver and new coach and we are returning a ton of players. Either way it will be a good game and shit tons of beer.

Supporting your school and lying to yourself are not synonymous with one another.

This was a decent year in college football standards. This was a "historic" year for UNT football standards. That's where the problem lies. We see ourself as 1 thing whereas everyone else sees us with reality taken into perspective.

Pissed off a local high school? That's news to me since UHs current class has recruits from many top Houston schools.

Also don't be surprised if Tune replaces Amie.

UH pissed off Naaman Forest High in Garland, local as in DFW.  Don't really understand the infatuation with Tune.

Things slow on My Little Pony Fans website?  Don't be scared of change at the big public school in your backyard.  It won't change what is coming.
