It is pretty clear the NCAA considers it a violation of the "no contact between boosters and prospective student athletes" rule.

It is also pretty clear they don't do much to enforce it... right now.

Sooner or later they either have to change the rule (never gonna happen) or they are going to make an example out someone.

 

Now who do you think they are going to choose to make an example of?  A big powerful school like Texas?  Or a not so powerful school like North Texas?

 

My advice is: Don't contact recruits in anyway.  Not on social media.  Not in any way.

For me, I don't know how it could possibly be enforced via Twitter. There are so many ways to hide who you really are on Twitter. How would they ever prove that a particular person tweeting a recruit is really even a booster and not some opponent fan trying to get that school in trouble? I feel like Twitter would have to cooperate by sharing who the accounts are registered to and I can't imagine that's a precedent that Twitter would want to set.

I would agree with Crebus that it is probably very clearly a violation. I just am not sure there would ever really be a way to enforce that via social media platforms like Twitter.

I think this comes down to plain and simple enforcement issue. They can't suspend the entire NCAA and they can't police millions of people well enough, add in fake accounts and people trying to set up other teams, it would be a nightmare. Currently the Wild WIld West.

      UNT enrollment declining

      I'm sure the Master's programs that UNT is seeing enrollment drops in are the university's top profit center. Their student population probably uses the least amount of on-campus resources during the program compared to undergrads and PhDs, and they're probably overpaying or seeing less student aid usage to be in the programs. The flip side of the coin is that it's entirely possible that people are starting to realize that employers don't really care about Master's level paper as much as they did 20+ years ago. As the state of the world is going this week, if there is a prolonged economic downturn and a depressed hiring market for undergrads, most universities generally see an uptick in kids graduating and keeping on with it into a Master's program. I would advise undergrads that they're lighting money on fire, but if you can't find a job or start paying on loans, it can seem like a real option to keep learning. Will it result in a higher level of pay once they first time enter the workforce? Probably not, especially in today's world of AI threatening lower entry-level jobs, and H-1Bs threatening the rest. But the average Gen X parents will still push University degrees as a solution to all their unemployed kids' problems, just like the Boomer parents did before them.

Points if you sneak it into the Wilfred. 😅 Kudos to getting them to change the door pincode. I think it had been set to the year of Woodstock since the Wilfred opened.

      Is it lateral if: TX State goes to the PAC-Reboot with one other AAC Team that isn't us Memphis and USF go to the ACC UTEP is in Mountain West We're suddenly playing Sam Houston and Tarleton State in a combined AAC-USA? That's nightmare fuel for me, and seems entirely possible if Mosley keeps on Mosleying along with status quo.

      Oh gosh. I grabbed a couple of tickets on Wednesday. Purchased them through UNT to do the green and white a solid. I guess 'Tier 3' means Toilet Level seating. Me and my guest will have an awesome view of the Tulsa band with these seats. Good grief. You know how you go to the Super Pit and inevitably someone is sitting in your seat when you get there? Yeah, I apologize in advance if I do it to one of you. I'm gonna be behind our bench like the women's games. GMG
