Not a bad program to choose as a peer.  We just finished a better season, but they have been a better program that us for a long time.

Not to mention our 70's Steelers connection.
And when comparing basketball greats, I guess Karl Malone could hold Kenny Lyons' jock.

Good for FAU and CUSA.  That is, until Kiffin props up that program and FAU moves to the AAC.

If they don’t put some butts in the seat no matter how much he wins they will never go to the AAC

He is making decent money...already has made a ton of money...has a house on the water with a private dock....he is coaching D1 football in the middle of a football hit-bed with the recruiting benefit of “hey, come to Boca, we’re pretty good and only 1.8 miles to the beach”. I by should/would he leave. He can be a god in Boca

1. Recruiting

2. Buyout

FAU is like UNT in that both HC's want be at there respective Universities in 2--3 years if all goes well. They're hoping his recruiting will set them up for several years after he leaves.

If Adminstration was fully committed along with alumni that 2-3 years could be 4-6 years.  The only gap between UNT and P-5 programs is brand reputation.   This move is something UNT could have done. Say what you will about Kiffen hiring him in the first place tells people you are serious about wanting on the field success.  UNT should have made a move like this after firing Dickey.  Seth is great but not a household name.  And a Seth would be the perfect type of coach to take over when that household name head coach leaves the program.  Larry Coker wasn’t a success at UTSA but him leading the program put everyone on notice that UTSA was serious about building a competitive FBS program.  They are probably not in CUSA over Texas State if they just a good but not well known coach.

UCF and USF will never ever allow that to happen. They both look at FAU down there noses as a university and for their lack of a fan base. (Not my opinion, I don't care either way.)

It’s good for FAU cause they will get more money so they can spend on a replacement. Another year like this and dude WILL be on to greener pastures. With him plus the Briles though, it’s a good bet FAU is gonna get hammered for something and they won’t get the same kind of leniency as Baylor.

What's up with FAU's recruiting?  They are ranked 12th out of 13 teams in CUSA.  I'm sure that's mostly due to the site recognizing just 5 total commits for them....but how do they only have 5 commits?  Especially after this season!?  Are they in on a bunch of higher level players who are going to go down to the wire on signing day?
