He was Co-OC with OL coach Matt Moore. Strange three headed animal since Neal Brown was calling plays. Edenfield is a good OC and he'll be successful at USA. The culture Steve Campbell brings to USA is far more important than any staff member. He's a great coach and will do great things at USA.

Edenfield will also be much closer to his family now as well. I know that was a big factor in the move. He and Steve played ball together in college so I don't really view this as a "FU" move. Best of luck to him.

Good hire for Coach Campbell at USA, I assume he had asked Nathan Brown first but he instead stayed in Conway and became HC at his Alma Mater

No word on it. But he has been the DC at Clemson, North Carolina, Illinois, and maybe Kansas or Kansas State. I forget. He's a good one. He's much more valuable than any OC we have. Neal Brown would not be as successful without that home-run hire.

How'd he end up from there to Troy?

Short story..Wyoming DC and had success. Became head coach and did not. He was hired be CLB at Troy and was DC 2003-2004 and had good success. He was then hired by Tommy Bowden to be the DC at Clemson and stayed there until 2008 when Tommy was fired. His defense was strong leading the ACC in scoring D and 9th overall in the country. However when Dabo was named HC he elected to resign. IMO I feel like he either had issue with Dabo or was upset that he was passed over for the HC gig.. not sure. Here’s a little read on that

http://www.espn.com/college-football/news/story?id=3740457

he then bounced around and ended up at NC with Fedora and I think there was also some personal conflicts between the two.

So fast forward...2015 NB was able to grab probably one of the best coordinators in the country who appears to be very happy in Troy, happy being a coordinator and obviously doing his thing! Hope we can keep him for years to come!
