Who would’ve thought we left the Belt for a worse conference.

ya, we didn't....losing those 2 games does not mean we regressed...there are good teams in other conferences

So CUSA is 0-2 to the Sun Belt and 1-0 to the MWC? What's that conference pecking order again?

no one cares it is the perception

At the end of the day, we lost to FAU twice, Troy, and SMU, all of whom were simply more talented than we were.

We beat everyone else we had similar or better talent than, even if it was a close game—to me, that’s solid coaching.

So the real question is can we develop what we have and who we bring in to be better talent to move us up beyond being a top 20 G5 to being a top 10 G5 in the next year or two...that will tell us if SL is ready for somewhere higher on the CFB food chain, as well.

Remember a few seasons ago when CUSA thrashed the AAC in OOC and bowls?  What impact did that have?  I would say hardly any, if any at all.

Yeah I said last year that it was cool -- but really the best way to win the perception battle is in the regular season. We lost to an AAC team -- SMU. And FAU lost to Navy. That is more harming to the league than an otherwise meaningless bowl game.

That said, WKU is in a weird spot with their program. We lost to the best the Belt had to offer and I don't think that is bad thing. Sneaky fact is that NT has not played well offensively since losing Jeff Wilson. Only managed 30 against Rice with these same sack problems. Something like 18 sacks in the last three games.
