I had seen serval mentions on stories of Morris' departure that one had been long promised but hadn't be built yet. I can't imagine an indoor practice facility would have done anything to keep him, but actually starting it might have been part of the deal to get Dykes. 

Several stories say SMU had a couple of turn downs before Dykes said yes.

This could be huge for SMU! Borrow the bleachers from their intramural teams , put them inside the IPF then maybe you could have a sell out game inside the SMU dome! Genius

Don't think that UNT is the only school that SMU puts down. They bragged about how amazing their IPF was going to be for years. UH built theirs a year earlier but SMU said that's because they were building a $50 million palace compared to our $20 million barn. 

Note that their palace is down to $27 million and 80 yards vs UH's 120.  Good for them, but don't brag about what you haven't started

When Sonny Dykes was interviewed, he was told that Seth Littrell had a new IPF that would soon be under construction.  He was asked for his thoughts on that, and he responded...

More crack reporting again by Bert Frito.  I read last week in the Dallas rag that they were breaking ground in the spring.  I guess now that old Beep Pattiesome owns the newspaper again, it takes a while for information to be shared.
