LOL, yes.  The story is even better than that when you include him trying to find our hotel room.

LOL yep.  Hotels are hard.  The next year included him trying to ride the Lucky Dog cart.

Don’t do what I did when I went to the New Orleans Bowl in 2001 when I was 21 and go into a casino and lose every bit of money you had and have to walk back to your hotel in the cold through not the greatest parts of Town.

Just be smart. Don’t walk between the streets in dark alleys. Even with a buddy. Always best in groups of 3-5. Don’t venture on the other side of Pontchartrain Expressway. Crimes in Nola are often opportunistic. Be nice to the cops.

Don't pee in the street

Don't puke in street

Don't pass out in the street and if you do look out for above.

Don't go on Bourbon street without beads.

Don't drink too many hurricanes.

Don't assume all those funky ladies are actually female.

Don’t gamble anywhere other than the casino.

I haven’t seen any of this years, but in 2002 my wife found a gaming room in the back of a t-shirt shop.  Needless to say, it didn’t payout.  No razzle dazzle.

I'd avoid being a dick to the police. If they tell you to do something, do it. Be cool to them and they'll be cool to you. I've seen some epic beat downs.

This pretty much goes for every city in the USA.

Very very true. It's just most won't run you over with a horse, then hand you a courtesy tune up, then leave you in the paddy wagon for hours, followed by a jail that will make you beg for Dallas County. (FYI everyone begs not to go to Dallas County.)
