This brings up another question I have regarding SMU being the highest paid G5 job....

How long can they sustain that? Will they just keep throwing all that money at mediocre results? At some point you have to have a return right?

That has to be the worst ROI of any program in the country.....

Kind of pathetic

They don't care how much money it takes.  They charge like $40k per semester.  That plus wealthy boosters, they have all the money they need.

I've been meaning to chime in on this, even before it came out that he's not interested.  I just don't see Litrell having any interest in the $mut job, unless he was using them for a salary increase or a higher buyout when he does leave, which I'm fine with. It makes zero sense to make a lateral move, which is what $mut is, AT BEST.  They have only been successful at football back when Craig James Killed 5 Hookers While at SMU.  The ONLY people that think $mut is a better brand is their own following, and people who have no real knowledge of college football.  Anyone who knows anything about college football knows they have not had any relevance in college football since before the death penalty. Just being rich doesn't make your brand mean more. And just because you're in a better conference doesn't mean anything. Ask Vanderbilt about that.
