Are we still able to redshirt Duffy if needed?

Yes, but if this injury doesn't require surgery then he'd probably be back in time for conference, and would only miss 4 games.

Good update, Vito.

this season for the guys is turning into similar season as Jalie's first year, injuries and transfers having to sit, are making for what could be a long season

The women are 6-2 with a one point loss to K-state at home and a 5-point loss to Indiana on the road.

Gotcha.  The women actually experienced a couple season ending injuries in the off season but have been coping pretty well so far.  Hopefully the tall Baylor transfer Sczepanski (not sure on spelling) will be healthy soon.

McCaslasnd said he doesn’t see him coming back anytime soon. That’s usually atleast 2 months if not longer.

Based on what precedent?

He said when Gibson got injured that it didn’t look good and he would be outa while. He is out all season. McCasland doesn’t sound confident and the fact he has to go in for more scans isn’t promising. It could be nothing and he is only out a couple weeks, but it didn’t look good on television. I hope the former is true and we see him in a couple weeks. We need his three point shooting.

I just don't see how "anytime soon" is a defined phrase that usually means at least two months, especially when there is only one case in the sample size and it was a very different circumstance. Gibson had a broken leg, which you can see a leg dangle. Duffy, I didn't see a replay because I was at the game, but he came back to the bench so that's a big difference.

May very well be two months or more, but a coach saying a player won't be coming back soon sounds to me like it will be a multiple week issue, but not necessarily a multiple month issue. Plus, I don't think I've ever seen a knee injury that didn't require surgery yet kept the player out two months or more, and there is no guarantee Duffy needs surgery based on Vito's report.

An example would be Aaron Jones for the Packers, who had an MCL injury in which he had to be carted off the field but did not require surgery. He played three weeks after his injury occurred. Hoping it doesn't require surgery.

Considering Duffy was on crutches and really struggling to keep it his leg it doesn’t look promising to have him back in a few weeks. Gibson beat him in the locker room on his broken leg (granted he did have a scooter haha).
