Leading USA at the half.  If they win they are bowl eligible for the first time 1960.

This is their last year in the SBC, who is kicking them and Idaho out next year.  Idaho will go to 1AA, NMSU is going to try the 1A indy route.

UTEP would rather burn the Sun Bowl to the ground.

UTEP should be glad they aren’t being swapped out..  would love to see Troy added.. they are a solid team in a bad conference

As much as UTEP bitches about wanting to be in the Mountain West they should have no say in New Mexico State.  Financially would make sense if the conference added NMSU so basketball  and other sports could play two games when they head out this way

There's more to conference affiliation than having a good football team.

Still have no idea how Troy would hurt anything in this conference when we have UTEP being the only winless team..

Membership in a conference is not exclusively a football thing.   These are athletic conferences of institutions of higher education.  These institutions want to be associated with like institutions.   It's not always fair, but in this world you are judged by the company you keep.  Troy could have the best football team in the entire nation and they would never be invited into the Big 10.

Again, no issues have been stated as to what the problem is with Troy.. it was posted that academics are an issue, which if that that is fine with me for them not being let in.. but again no reasons have been presented and that is what I have asked..

Yes, it's an academic thing.  Probably some other factors, but the academics is the predominant factor.  Presidents of universities determine/accept/approve who is let into their conference club and their motivations extend way beyond the football field.
