He definitely HAD to challege the sthe pot of the ball when FAU went for it on 4th and 1 and clearly didn't get it but was called a 1st down. FAU even went ahead and called TO after that play like bozos and we still didn't question it or anything. FAU went on to score a first half TD.

the officials had already moved the chains by that point.

This game has 90% been on Mason Fine, offensively. He hasn't trusted himself, hasn't seen the field appropriately and therefore has had hung onto the ball far too long too many times. The 10%, there has been some whiffs by the OL.

SMH...

Got it, so our team never really wanted to win this game.  Passion and inspiration is not a measure of athleticism.  It's a measure of something else.

Not sure what you're arguing about here honestly. I never said they aren't more athletic but they are in no way leaps and bounds more athletic. Inspiration and passion deals with a lot of factors in a game and now late in the game their intensity has made them play better which is proof that it is not just FAU being so much more athletic than us to merit an embarrassing blowout twide in a season. But yeah man, lets just say FAU deserves to be mentioned as a playoff contender since they're so darn athetlic.

game over, SL has the headphones off.

Yeah. I'm ready for someone to hire him away. The quicker the better. This is embarrassment 2.0 + UTEP last year. He has no passion. Even his talks to his team that have been public made are awkward and uncomfortable.

Look...Imagine that...Another record set against UNT.

We need a DC. Yesterday.

Based on the number of times I see posts cussing the coaches for how stupid they are for not challenging a call, it is almost as if those posters don't realize that college coaches can't challenge a call or spot, but surely those posters know  better, right?

Yes, they can. They should've challenged the 4th and 1 that FAU converted in the 1st half that led to a TD. They should have challenged the TD before the UNT TD. Our coach is like a librarian on the sideline.

They have to call a timeout.  Then inform the ref you want the call reviewed by the booth.  The booth reviews it, if the call is over turned you get the TO back.  If not the TO is burned and you don't get to challenge the call again.

If you have a successful challenge in the first half, you can challenge another play in the second half.

But there was a timeout after that play.  The replay official had plenty of time to review that play and change the spot if they wanted.

Yes, FAU ignorantly called  TO. But there was no push from our staff to get a review. They aren't going to review that kind of on the field call unless there is a push to do so. There was no effort or report of an indication to even attempt to take a look at it.

I thought the replay official had the ability to buzz the field on any play they felt warranted a second look.  Isn't it reasonable to think they, with a timeout, they had ample time to look at that play?

Does't mean they did. It wasn't a scoring play. It's basically optional to take a look at unless it it pressed by a coaching staff.

I thought teams had a replay "official" in the booth that initiates the challenge to the head replay official (also in the booth) who then signals the referee on the field.   Isn't that team official a part of the staff?  Some plays are unavailable for review.  Possession calls are reviewable as are "boundary" calls.  Not sure if the first down line is considered a boundary or not.
