Scrappy

So there was a bug around here a while back where many did not like Eugene Levy Scrappy for a while.   I agreed back then.   I was wrong this year though, he is one Bad A. Bird!   

 

Ive spent my time at work today watching hype videos and other UNT content on the internet and I have to say that dude is awesome!   

 

Sorry I doubted you Scrappy!   Keep it up!

Yeah, this is where I am. Definitely A+ mascot work. C- costume work.

Scrappy has been awesome this year, engaging and energetic.   Exciting and athletic.   He regularly interacts with the kids bringing them into the fold and his new look is growing on me....   well done all around

I commented on this in my Apogee survey. I love Scrappy. I'm even ok with the more "old school" look to him... but he needs a better quality mascot costume

Not sure what the hate is on the costume, I actually think it's pretty good. Would definitely consider it a solid B rather than C- like someone else said above.

Scrappy won the Mid-Major Madness Mascot Melee.  So it can't be that bad right?

New Orleans days were two Scrappys ago.  That was the best Scrappy costume IMO.

You may be right. If I'm remembering correctly the general style of scrappy was the same for about 15 years before Eugene Levy scrappy (which, after a few years is starting to grow on me a bit).

i have no issue with the Scrappy costume and the person in the costume does a great job.  The old scrappy was probably to scary for young children.  We don't want to scare the little darlings for life do we?

I've gotten used to Eugene Levy Scrappy. The Jersey was a much needed addition. And I totally agree about the occupant. He/she is going a great job.

Not trying to out anyone, but I have a strong suspicion that our current Scrappy is a 2017 transfer from Lewis University.  Gymnast and former mascot for the Lone Star High School Rangers.  That’s enough clues.  (Oh, and this individual is a “he”.)

I was always partial to this version of Scrappy vs. the Eugene Levy Scrappy.  But I gotta admit, Scrappy's been awesome this year.
