ESPN's "The Eliminator: The fall of the College Football Playoff pretenders", has the North Texas Mean Green as being eliminated from the CFP in Week 2...wait, is ESPN saying that if we would have beaten SMU we would have been a potential CFP team after Week 2?  What if we had beaten Iowa?  Wonder what week we would have been eliminated...

How many bowl eligible teams have we beaten this season?

Need to go undefeated next year, see where we land in the bigger picture...

In the top 25, but nowhere close to the top 4. UCF up until their division title game vs USF was taking just about everyone they played out to the woodshed vs a perceived tougher/better conference. At that point I believe they were at #15 in the CFB playoff poll. They might be at like #13 right now. There is not a cold day in hell chance a G5 opponent makes the playoff in the current format of a 4-team playoff. Best chance would be to schedule the entire OOC slate vs P5 teams on the road. These P5 teams would need to be of Iowa's caliber or better. Beat them handedly, 14+. Then demolish the entire conference X G5 team is in by 28+ points per game. Then, they might throw us a bone for the 4th slot. And I would still think some chips may need to fall right, as in a couple 2-loss conference P5 champs.

fbsschedules.com has our tentative '18 OOC schedule as: vs. SMU (love it), vs. Incarnate Word (is it blasphemous if we dominate them?),  @ Arkansas (big opportunity here), and @ Liberty (...).

Could our Mean Green start 2018 at 3-1 or better headed into conference play?

That little 0-12 season a bit ago.

In what other sport or league does previous seasons ever matter to the current one?! That makes no sense and just another reason this monopoly system is jacked up.
