Well that sucks. Glad we have capable backs with Smith and Johnson. Siggers coming next year should help a lot too. He's only 5'8 but at almost 200 pounds he could be our power guy after putting on some weight in the offseason

Dang.
Not the way I envisioned Wilson departing.
Thankful for everything he gave us, most importantly in the leanest of times.
Hope to see him around in the future.
This hurts us on the field, but the offense (especially Nick Smith) just got a huge boost in sideline encouragement/cheerleader.

As many have said, great player with great vision.  He should get a shot at playing on Sundays.  Thank  you for your career at North Texas, Jeffery.

Had a great season and career.   As good a home run back, as I have seen at NT with the exception of freshman Jamario Thomas.

Just couldn't get through an whole season, which is hard for starting running backs to do.

Jeff may be my favorite player ever at UNT... Zach Orr level for sure. I wish him all the best moving forward!

Agreed.

What's his legacy?  One of the best running backs in school history OR he could have been one of the best if he could have avoided injuries?

I think he was one of the best regardless and he could have made a case for THE best if not for the injuries.

He continued the legacy of having great running backs at our school. Hope he gets his shot at the NFL.

Yep.  There have been several backs that have come through here since I was a student & Ja’Quay was here, but not all of them make the rundown list of impact backs while here:

Wilburn, Galbreath, Cobbs, Thomas, Dunbar, Byrd, Wilson.

It certainly appears that Smith is next in line!
