Wear your Mean Green Gear

I happen to be in Las Vegas for business and went to the Stars/Golden Knights game last night.  Witnessed some Stars history with back-to-back hat trick games, the first shutout in Golden Knights franchise history and the two fastest goals in Stars history.  Anyway, I didn't bring any Stars gear so wore my "North Texas" green pull-over.  Got a lot of "Go Mean Green" shout outs from other Stars fans and had several conversations about the football program and school while waiting in various lines (if you know what I mean).  It's all Green and it's all Good.  GMG - spread the word.  Wear your gear especially when traveling.

Agreed. Went on a vacation back in August where I wore UNT gear occasionally. Had people come up to me in Boulder and Seattle, it was great!

I’ve worn something North Texas related all week at my office (down in Austin). A lot of non UNT people have mentioned the football program that I imagine wouldn’t normally even be aware.

Same here. I’ve been wearing UNT gear almost daily. It’s been pretty cool getting random comments from strangers. My favorite was, “Mean Green?  You guys beat my Army. I was pissed.”  I replied, “Yeah, it was a good game.”

Oh yeah, I wear something Mean Green Traveling every time. Whether thats driving or flying. I always wear my Mean Green Black UA Pull Over on every flight and we haven't crashed yet! I never get thanked by the pilots or passengers though, JERKS!

I wore my overly priced NT Columbia button down and several people at work commented on the football program. One person mentioned watching the end of the army game....

I actually work for the Stars in Frisco and wear UNT gear almost every shift. Probably 3-4 times a week a customer will walk in with a Mean Green shirt on or something and we'll discuss the recent game. It's neat.

Traveling this past summer, I was wearing a NT pullover at the Glencoe (Massacre) visitors center in the Scottish Highlands. Someone came up to me in a North Texas hoodie and we had a nice chat about the school, football and the parts of the Metroplex in which we lived. I encouraged him to get up to Apogee and see how things have changed since he went to school at NT. 

I think he was bummed one of my ancestors (we share a last name) led the force that took out a significant number of MacDonalds, with whom he shares a last name. We had the Mean Green in common though.

I asked this guy to take a pic of me and my friend in Knoxville early this month and he noticed the SOW on my shirt.  He asked is that North Texas?  I said yes!  He was a graduate of unt and he and his wife had moved out to Tennessee to further their music careers. Glad he recognizes the SOW.  The brand is working. 

Also the guy at Henderson tap house, Jaimie (Manchester United hater but he lives our cash and big crowds) said it was cool we were doing so good this year!  He commented on the Mean Green jerseys so he knew what was up.  He still needs a Mean Green flag and/or helmet to be donated to that bar!  Awareness growing!
