Two years ago today

In an game which neither team wanted to play, let alone win, the Miners of UTEP defeated the Mean Green of North Texas 20-17 in front of an announced crowd of 8,305.  A couple pictures popped up in my facebook memories this morning.  What a difference a couple of years makes:

Last game of the worst season I can ever recall in 20 years of following the program.  It was frigidly cold that day, as well...I was there with a coworker who is a Utep alum.  He showed up to the beating we gave them in 2013, so I had to take my medicine and show up for that 2015 hot mess.

MTSU game in 2011 when Lance ran wild in the rain had more people, albeit all were under the overhang.

I had been awarded 12 tickets to that game.  I brought 5 other dads and their sons.  I’d hoped they’d have a great experience and maybe come back.  One of them was an alum.  To my knowledge, none of them have come to a game since.

Chico also decided to play all of the QBs that day, so the illustrious duo of McNulty and Greer got their last snaps of their careers.

Woo Hoo!  Through the Good and the Bad. Wouldn’t have missed it. I remember thinking, need to show up for the Seniors and Coach Chico. I think he cried after alma mater was over!

Old Dominion was not to far off this this year. I wish more consideration would go into scheduling.

My wife couldn't come to that game so I brought my brother-in-law. He hasn't been to a game since.
