"IF" North Texas vs Texas Tech at HOD Bowl: There Is Some History...This From Mean Green Sports & KTCK's G. Dunham

It would be the HOD Bowl officials dream game as far as attendance & selling tickets is concerned.

Easy to predict a Mean Green vs Red Raiders matchup would be close to or maybe even be the HOD Bowl's largest attendance game; especially since UNT has already brought 35K to 40K  Mean Green fans against UNLV.  We had another great turnout of fans dressed in green last year vs Army.

In 1997, North Texas football resumed its series against regional foe Texas Tech, traveling to Jones Stadium in Lubbock for a meeting on September 20. The Red Raiders of the Big 12 were heavily favored over the Mean Green,

who were still playing in Division I-AA's Southland Conference.

I thought we went independent and moved up to 1-A in 1995?
