Is there any hope whatsoever that they get a shot at the playoffs with a 13-0 record in a "P6" conference, or do the realities of actually being a G5 set in, and they get a lovely NY6 consolation prize?

There is no hope whatsoever, which shows that the committee is highly biased. They should at least be in the converstaion in a season such as this where people are talking about the potential of two loss teams making it in. Bama for example doesn't really have much better wins than UCF once you sstart looking at it properly.

No chance. Beating two big P5 names in non-conference is about the only way. Unless maybe you kill everyone 70-0.

No, they won’t get a sniff. Their only P5 win was against a Maryland team that will end the season with a losing record.  They may have had a snowball’s chance if Maryland made some noise in the B10.
