Using the attendance numbers from ESPN, it looks like we've increased from 19,878/game last year to 22,362/game this year. 2,500 more fans per game is definitely something to be happy about. Now we just need to transition them into the MGC.

It was larger than homecoming, with it being the 2nd largest crowd at Apogee people said

Homecoming was 26,108. Close.

I personally thought the alum side looked great. I sit front row end zone, and looking up to the alum side, it looked like a full house over there. The amount of heads and just general fullness looked like something seen on TV at a big time P5 game.

A great day to celebrate for all of us who bleed Mean Green.  We never came close to having this kind of atmosphere at Fouts Field...Never!

The Wing Zone seemed almost as full as it was for Apogee's Grand Opener vs UH. It was a great night for all Mean Green'ers of every decade.  My old college roommate has now become a regular Mean Green fan (again).   He and his ex wife,  myself (and my ex) were at Fouts for Fry's debut as HFC.  We were reminiscing about that Fouts Field game last night as we seemed surrounded by Army fans in Section 208.  The Army fans were first class all the way.   Even though we've played them a bunch lately, North Texas would be foolish not to continue to schedule Army as a home and home because if we don't---we know someone up the road whose seen our turnstiles success against the Black Knights who will take it away from us and  do it themselves.

Their dirty playing few will graduate in due time, so we shouldn't get hung up on them.   Why burn our barn down just to kill a few dirty mice?    Last night was a turnstiles money-making succe$$ for UNT.

Still....where can we find just 4,000 more fans out of 800,000 in Denton Country, 119,000 in Denton,  39,000 UNT enrollment and whatever our real DFW alumnus numbers are; that is,  4,000 additional fans to fill out Apogee at games as the one last night ?

Large crowds at Apogee make you feel as if we are on the cusp of a true Big Time future (and who knows,  maybe in a more high profile conference). Kudos to the UNT Athletic Dept, for teaming up with Coca Cola for their Family Plan promo; 4 tickets for $60 plus food/drink percs. You can't get that kind of entertainment deal at your local movie theatre for a family of 4.

I hope we don't kick the can of a serious group promotions program to the next Athletic regime, because we need to solve this problem now.   Solving this now (or next Spring/Summer) might be very important for us to in the next NCAA Re-alignment circus & (trust me) that is going to happen.

To get those additional 4,000 fans at Apogee, we've  still got to jump out of that damn glass jar (or coffee can) as described in the link below.
