I agree it would be a quick turnaround, but I bet he'll at least have some packages ready to go this week, if not a full "base" defense ready.
If he wants to treat this like a job interview (which he should), he'll need to implement successful changes immediately. He'll have at least two (better be three!!) games to show what he can do.
He probably has some chronic soreness like all starters do after 3/4’s of a season.
I think his drop off has more to do with a decimated running game (Porter is stepping up but would never play if the others were healthy), constant restructuring of the offensive line due to injuries, and some questionable play calling by the coach. I think he is pushing too much.
