team needs to do.

Thanks for support

I would like to thank the UNT basketball team for their support of Denton Youth Basketball. Last Saturday, coach Johnny Jones and Hank Dickerson brought the Mean Green Basketball team to Calhoun Middle School for an autograph session. All the players were very nice, talked to the kids and gave out UNT basketball posters. As a coach of these young kids, I can appreciate what a big deal it was for them to get to meet the players.

We are very fortunate to have the University of North Texas in Denton, the economic impactthe university has on our city is very significant and

UNT means jobs for a lot of people in this area. People in Denton love sports, we have good sports programs in our schools and alsoat the youth level.

Supporters come to these games, but I am amazed how many people I meet who have never been to a UNT game. UNT sports are fun, affordable and exciting. The football team dominates the Sun Belt and the basketball team is definitely on the rise and will soon claim a championship title of its own.

I have been "Down to Dallas" and spent lots of money to watch football and basketball. I found out its more fun and a lot less expensive enjoying a game right here in Denton. Come on out to the Super Pit and show your support of the UNT athletes. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Dusty Connor,

Denton

Like I've said before, Johnny Jones is a class act, and I think that reflects in his players. As far as I could tell, the whole team made it out to the candlelight vigil the other night, and whenever I hear them talk, they're always very modest and complimentary.

And yes, North Texas sports are fun to watch. smile.gif
