Honestly, I think it's 11-3 or GTFO to get votes.  We'll need to pull of seasons like this a couple more times, including bowl wins and conference championships, to get better consideration.  Remember -- this is still all human voting, and humans have inherent biases and perceptions.

The huge loss to FAU makes it tough to get any Top 25 votes in my mind.

Ohio State lost 55-24 and is still ranked in the top 10.   Apparently some are forgiven a let down game and others are not, so you are probably right.

We win out and finish 11-3, do we get Top 25 consideration??

What about lose C-USA Championship, but beat a t Top 25 Army, Rice, and a Bowl Game??  10-4

When do we get some LOVE???

11-3  and I think we need to beat Army and Rice with authority and just beat FAU, part of which I think is based on the two blowouts to SMU and FAU.

tOSU gets the benefit of its name and history. It's a lot like why teams like Texas and Notre Dame are always in the preseason Top 25 despite having shown nothing to voters.

Plus P5 conference  and their SoS has to be better than ours.

The 2013 team got votes after the bowl win. Like I said, I think we will receive votes for beating Army. We will receive the votes they got this week. But as of right now, it may take a couple more wins to sustain enough votes to crack the top 25.

Army has votes in both the AP and Coaches.  IF we beat Army, we should and then take care of Rice to finish the regular season at 9-3, that *should* be enough to start getting some love, but it probably won't be forthcoming.  Hell, even Troy....again, Troy is getting votes in the coaches poll.

i don't like talking about this. but, assuming we haven't lost,  if you beat FAU, you are 26 or 27.

People love conference champs and we would be sitting at 10-3

At 11-3 we just don't get votes, but we finish the season ranked.

maybe... WKU finished last year on an 8 game win streak, CUSA Champs, bowl champs and it's losses were to Bama, Vandy and La Tech... they were left out of the top 25.

9-4 got us some votes in 2013

They finished 29th in both AP and coaches, which is a joke. They drubbed 3 named programs to cap off the season. However, SDSU finished the season 11-3 and ranked 25th in the final poll.

There is a difference in the national perception of the MWC VS C-USA.

The benefit we get from our name is history is AP voters asking "Where's North Texas State?  I don't see them as an option."

Maybe we could call ourselves the University of Lewisville and people would get us mixed up with that team from Kentucky.

It would be nice, but don't see it happening.

Weak perception of CUSA, weak perception of this program as a whole based on recent history and 3 losses (2 of them horrific) to non ranked teams makes for an uphill climb even if we win out.
