JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -- Leonard Hopkins scored a career-high 25 points Saturday to lead North Texas to an 87-73 Sun Belt Conference win over Arkansas State.

The loss was the fifth straight for the Indians (11-7, 2-5 SBC).

The Eagles (9-8, 4-1) stormed out to a 17-4 lead before Dewarick Spencer knocked down a 3-pointer from the wing at the 12:45 mark -- just the second field goal of the game for ASU.

North Texas led 37-28 at the half, then let the Indians get within 40-38 just 1 3/4 minutes into the second period. But ASU didn't score another field goal for nearly four minutes.

Michael DeGrate and Calvin Watson scored 14 points each for NTSU, with Marqus Mitchell adding another 10.

Spencer led all scorers with 26 points, while Kim Adams and J.J. Montgomery had 13 apiece and Lorenzo Hampton scored 10. Adams also grabbed 10 rebounds.

The whole N.T.S.U. thing bothers me too, but I think it also says that our program is better known, and for a longer time than we realize. Bigrobdsp is right--The more we win, the easier it will be to pronounce our name correctly. GMG.
