lol... we made halftime adjustments...  then we came back to win the game because they didnt adjust?

hahahahhahahaha

Doesn't hurt that they lost their best DE, and were down to 3rd team LBs... and they still only lost by 1...

Every team will be filled with upperclassmen. All these games we are winning by 1-2-3-4 points, they will have upperclassmen too.

We're heavy on Freshman and Sophomores on the roster right now though:

Class** Class Count
Freshman 27
RS Freshman 12
Sophomore 11
RS Sophomore 17
Junior 12
RS Junior 21
Senior 11
RS Senior 8

**I'm not sure how precise these numbers are but they should be pretty close.

Moral victories only apply for UNTs opponents.

Got it.

Take this win, however it came, and savor it tonight. Tomorrow start thinking about payback for UTEP for that ass-whipping they put on us last season.

So, just so I'm clear...

1) We get outrecruited every year

and

2) We should be winning by more because we have more talent

Got it

i feel like some of these people don't understand the arguments they are making...

We can keep saying a # of young kids play.. but they are mostly at the offensive skill spots.. On defense we have Khari and Hamilton playing major roles as young guys, but the other spots are held by older guys just like the OL..

It would be understandable if they were working in a # of younger guys on the DL/LB/DBs but tthey aren't..

We might be playing a bunch of upperclassmen on defense but our depth has been a problem all season long. Some of that depth comes from freshman and sophomores.

To some fans, that's a sign of a "less bad" team--or one of relative suck--instead of a team doing what is necessary to win.

Ah but at GMG folks damn a 5-1 conference record with faint praise qualifications.

And we wonder why our attendance sucks.

But we have been told by certain, ahem, people that Latech has throrougly been out recruiting UNT for several years.  If that is the case, then how can they now be an inferior opponent (also won the division 2 out of last 3 years)?  Based on the declarations of superior recruiting, their 3rd stringers should still be better than UNT starters.

Explain the logic of how they are an inferior opponent.  Oh, they were also favored in the game.

The point is... LT had a ton of injuries and we won by only 1.. Yes its great to get the W, and this was a tough LT squad.. The thing is, LT played a # of 2nd and 3rd team guys and hung with us (and lead)... We should have had a better game on offense, but a W is a W...

There will be people who are never happy even if we went 3-0 the rest of the way winning by 1 score and people will find something to complain about.

Everyone is happy about the W, but yet this game was way to close..

you view it that way, i view it as the team finding ways to win when not clicking on all cylinders

Everyone would be happy, the point is we should not be winning by single digits to a team with 70 players that have missed a game and playing with 3rd team LBs (which they had to move Safetys down to LB)..

If we only beat UTEP/Rice by single digits, we have alot of problems and another FAU beatdown will be coming up...

Yes this team found a way to win, and it has multiple times this year.. But allowing teams to hang around is very worrisome..

Why “should we” be winning that game by more? They’ve kicked our teeth in on recruiting trail last 4 years.  Have better athletes even their 3rd stringers.  We  beat them on the road, with a sub par offensive performance.  I’ll take it!

Willing to bet we could win the next 3 games by 1 point each, win the conference championship by 1, and beat a P5 team at the HOD in front of a packed house by 1 point and after all of that people will still complain.

Everyone would take the W, so you bringing it up is completely pointless, since i have said it multiple times...

The point is our #1's barely beat their 2s and 3s... We can say they have better athletes but us talking and using "depth" as an excuse is STUPID when the other team is on its 3rd team guys and we have our 1st team out there.. GH had ALOT of questionable calls, with the # of QB runs and again we start out with Wilson and then we work away from him to only go back and boom it works.. Use what is working and keep going to it, not let it work then go someplace else and then hope its still there when we come back in the 4th...

This team has been solid at times, and others it is completely lost.. The LT QB threw up multiple duck passes deep and our DBs had no idea what to do.. We miss multiple tackles and this is something that has been going on for years.. Multiple times that Guyton is 1 on 1 vs a True FR and we don't try it? I'm sorry but Guyton has more ability than anyone (outside of Wilson) on this offense and we find ways to get him the ball.. When it is man to man, give your WRs the chance to make a play..

Great knowing you are okay with a 1 point win over UTEP and Rice... Pathetic

Why not just man up and say, "Tech deserved to win that game because they were beat up and only lost by 1."

Tech lost because they couldn't make enough plays to win the game.  UNT won because they made enough plays to win the game.

Dear lord no one is mad about the W..

People are disappointed in the point-spread... What is more impressive, Winning by 1 or winning by 15?

The USM win was very impressive because of the margin of victory and had our hopes even higher.. This win was not as impressive and LT was viewed as the team to beat in West

In case anyone forgot: We weren't favored in the game.

What games have we been favored in?

UAB and I believe ODU.
