For those of you not making the trek to Ruston, I'd like to offer up an alternate solution:

NORTH TEXAS VS. LOUISIANA TECH

WATCHING PARTY

Fuzzy's Taco Shop - 790 W. Exchange Pkwy - Allen, TX 75013

We'll stream the game onto the big screen behind the bar.  Game audio will be broadcast throughout the entire restaurant.

Pick up free UNT schwag like sunglasses, football stress relievers, car emblems, sports bottles, etc.  Enter the drawing for UNT beer glasses, t-shirts, chrome car emblems, pennants, etc.

Kickoff is at 2:30 pm, 11/4.  I hope to see you there!  #HIT6

I’ve thought about this before, but between the 7 second radio delay and the unpredictable stream buffering, I’ve never felt like trying to manually manage that synchronization on the fly in front of a restaurant full of passionate Mean Green faithful.

      Ranting about the AD, Students, Attendance and Fan Support

      The ESPN radio show for Univ. of KY basketball said last week that Norman, OK is the new Starkville of the SEC for basketball game day experience. They said that even with $1 beer and hotdogs, OU couldn't entice a descent crowd against the Wildcats and one fan even threw a full beer can at a player. UK had enough fans to make it sound like a home game. Even OU is struggling to get it right. I attended UNT/OU football game in 1991 & that it was an excellent experience, however. The OU fans were welcoming and hospitable so maybe it's just basketball. Also, Wren lives in West Virginia now. I can't name one good reason to live in WV & I live next door in KY. Denton is a far better place. Money isn't going to fix the flaws there either. Perhaps he can move on to a better place one day and that is his plan.

      Are other team eyeing Coach Hodge?

      This is my take on it. From what I have heard he loves Texas and so many ties here. His family loves it here. It would be really hard for him to move. On the other hand, it might be hard to turn down double or triple pay.

      He might have those connections but he doesn't care about UNT athletics. It's great how much money he has donated to the College of Business. Being a UNT COB alum, I do appreciate him doing that. However, just like the rest of our big money donors, people don't care about our athletics program. How long have we been trying to expand the athletic center now? I remember when the goal was $20 Million.       All depends on what your definition of move-worthy programs is, there will be plenty that will be looking at what he has accomplished at NT. I guarantee you, he is on a lot of programs radar. You don't believe that other schools aren't interested in a coach that keeps having to replace most of the starting five every year and still wins plus 20 and has difficulty even scheduling games because no one wants to play his team. He may not have the name that impresses perennial top 25 teams, but that only leaves about 300 teams that would seriously consider him as their next HC. Unfortunately about 150 of those teams can pay more and have a lot more fan and financial support. I don't even think his slow down defensive oriented play is going to be that big of problem. Colleges want to win more than play a more favored brand of basketball consisting of more scoring and uptempo offenses. There are AD's out there that are going to wonder what he can do with copious NIL money and a school that actually supports basketball.
