All these major publications put Projections out strictly for click bait. Willing to bet they spend about 30 seconds on what bowl each G5  eligible team lands end

Something to keep in mind here.. there will not be any 5 win teams getting in this year & we could possibly have more 6 win teams than bowl slots. Getting to 7 wins is crucial

they won't put us the AF bowl because of Army .. HOD is no longer a C-USA bowl ... I'm guessing we wind up in N.O Bowl ... I really , really hope we can sneak into the Independence Bowl.. it has a great history & we could possibly face a p5 school

HOD may no longer be a CUSA bowl but don't forget about the horse trading that goes on between these bowls near selection time. Finding a team that will fill seats is important.

There will definitely be some trading going on... i hoping maybe if Air Force can get to 6 that they could land in AF Bowl via trade w/ Army .. a UNT-Air Force game in Ft Worth would be a huge draw

no bahama bowl,  i think last years paid attendance was 27. if anything came out of the hurricanes it would be that the stadium was destroyed. i go to Frisco before the bahamas.

Well speaking to the scenario presented most likely St. Petersburg and Armed forces bowl would make a trade.  Either SMU vs UNT in the Armed Forces Bowl or SMU and Army’s *opponent trade places.

*only if that opponent is not from CUSA by something strange happening like acedemic ineligibility or Some unforeseen NCAA sanctions.

I long for the day when North Texas fans only have two wishes when it comes to bowl season:

1)  We are in a bowl

2) The destination is reachable

I go to watch North Texas, I couldn't care less who lines up across from us

It’s just too bad that only about 7,000 people around here agree with that viewpoint of only going to watch UNT play. That’s very RV-esque...come watch UNT play whoever I can pay to come here in OOC play!! Games against Portland State, Bethune-Cookman, Lamar, Old Dominion, UAB, Charlotte are awesome chances to see UNT play with thousands of your fellow fans...(and tens of thousands of empty seats)...

I take it from your response that you only watch us based on our opponent. Considering the examples provided and that none of them qualify for bowl games, I wonder who you find acceptable as a bowl opponent.

I don’t care who we play in a bowl—it’s not up to us. But if you get the right opponent, like we did last year with army in the HoD Bowl, you’ll see a great turnout. If it’s the Bahamas Bowl against some MAC school,  we will see about 50 people there.

My view that the FCS games are ones I’ll never waste one cent or one second at has been well-documented on here for years. We built Apogee with the promise that it would bring in better names for OOC play. That hasn’t happened—as a matter of fact, we’ve brought in WORSE OOC teams than we did when we played at Toilet Bowl Fouts.

If you feel that you should only attend games because UNT is playing, that’s fine and quite noble...and tens of thousands of empty seats within a UNT Family of a million plus people around here suggests strongly that this view is not anywhere close to being the case around here—and never has been.

Wren Baker is doing the right things around here and I believe that he will receive his reward for it very soon when someone higher up the food chain in college athletics comes calling. That’s just how it goes here, no matter how many ways you guys post about how pathetic our students and fans are for not going to watch us play Old Dominion on Halloween weekend. We don’t like sports here. We love music, arts, and cheap tuition. It’s why Baker showed us that for every 3800 alumni in DFW, one gives back to the achool’s athletic department. It is what it is...
