The defense is awful man. There is no sugar coating it. We have guys on the D that can play football. They are rarely ever in the correct position at the correct time to make the correct play. Good coaches put their players in the right placement on the field to make the appropriate play. We aren't doing one thing or another. There never really seems to be a real game plan on D. We seem just like a mesh of guys out there just running around. I know that's kind of the point of the 3-3-5 or whatever the hell they say we're running, but it's bad. We need to be exact in what we do and not try to disguise every single thing. We play too much man on the back end with guys that aren't very good man up defenders. We play too pinched in on the DL with smaller DL as it is. We rarely set the edge on runs and LB's are almost out of place and lost in the wash more than they are filling the correct hole. It's not a good coached unit. We have some ballers out there, no doubt. We need them to be better prepared and better equipped in execution. We need a better coach. One that hasn't been drug through the ringers of New Mexico, UTEP, and ULM. I think those have been his stops. Only those schools really wanting him should say enough.
