Would have tried to make it had I known anything about it. Wren?

Anyone know what’s up with the Russian kid. Arrived late for school and never seems to be in videos. Looks like he was in street clothes tonight.  Vito?

Apparently there was no scrimmage, but there was a rave on the floor where fans could dance with the players. I heard it was pretty disappointing compared to the past few years.

Jon Trilli won the knockout game. He is now tied with his father for the number of wins at the Super Pit.

The renovation restricted access to most of the concourse and there was only one entry.

They will have to kick it up a notch to finish by the season opener.

I did pick up my season tickets.

The old press box area on the east side has been renovated for season ticket holders and looks good.

I got a free pair of glow in the dark sunglasses and a chicken biscuit coupon for Whataburger.

Student attendance was good.

Not much else to report.

HERE IS MY POST FROM ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT THE EVENT:

I was there...decent sized crowd for such an event...comprised mostly of students...which I see as a very good thing.  The event was definitely geared toward students with chances to win both a $10,000 and a $50,000 prize.  Neither money prize was won this time,. but the drawing winners had fun trying at least.  There was the usual three-point and slam dunk contests, but no scrimmage of any kind by either of the teams, so you really got no indication of what you might see during the season.  Best part for me was the "dance off" between the men's and women's teams.  Really fun to watch that.  Lots of free food and drinks, food coupons, give-a-ways, etc.

Got to try out the newly installed loge seating at mid-court where press row used to reside.  Really nice.  Will provide an I-pad for every two seats to utilize during games, wait staff service, nice seating, etc., etc.  Priced like the floor seats.  There will be four rows of six seats each, so 24-loge seats available.  I believe the cost is $375.00 per seat for the men and $125 per seat for the women...$500 for both.  Required annual MGC seat donation...$1,000 per seat per year.  No permanent "seat license" as we see with the Apogee Club Seats. Get 'em while they are available folks...I think up to 8 are already sold.

This event was definitely geared toward the students...dancers, cheer team all participated and at the end of the event the coaches encouraged everyone to come down onto the floor and meet and mingle with the players and coaching staffs and to dance away...as many did.  They were "dancing in the streets" as we departed for our cars and home at the conclusion.  Lasted about and hour and a half.  You were also able to pick up your season tickets last evening.  They were in nice presentation "boxes" just like the football tickets were.  Very nice touch.

One thing everyone will notice when attending is that hand rails have been installed down every aisle...green, of course.  You might also notice that a good bit of the concourse is still blocked off on the press box side as construction is still on-going.  No idea when construction will be complete...,which includes a legit ticket booth/office area...imagine that for the Super Pit!  Winner!

All in all a very enjoyable evening, but even more so for the students in attendance I would think.  I love the focus on student attendance these days at all the UNT sporting events.  Students help the "game day atmosphere" so much and can mean the difference between a real home court advantage or not...in my opinion. Glad we went, but ready for the games to begin! GO MEAN GREEN!

They're gonna have to kick it up by more than a few notches to be anywhere close to finished by the season opener on Nov. 10th.

The renovation should be finished sometime in Spring 2018 so it'll likely be after basketball season is complete.

I think the team looks promising. Seems like we have more size this year. Still a very young team and only have one upperclassmen in our starting 5. ( as of right now )

These are all sold out now.    Good sign of optimism under the new coach.

Routing is going to be interesting, several of the entrances are completely shut down and look to be for a long time.
