Haven't heard or missed the announcement?

No one has heard... They had rumors/ people saying he would hopefully be back around UAB/UTSA..

At this point its a regular question at the press conference the past few weeks, but he did travel to FAU for the game.. He is walking (with the boot) now and has for the past week... The kid has sat out 2 years, and he should play when he is able to play.. Get the rust off this year, even if it is a few games and let him roll next year...

At this point they should just push for a medical redshirt.

UNT has rarely fared successful with the NCAA on such matters.

I think if he's close to 100% for the La Tech game he should play because we will certainly  need him for our bowl.

Is it possible we get a better bowl game if we weren't Division champion?   We shoot for that honor but golly what if they sent us to the Bahama's as West Division Champion?

TCU's Amon Carter Stadium would look very nice filled with Mean Green fans.  Filled?  We know we get a total different fan base for North Texas bowl games per the HOD Bowl Game in 2013 & 2016.  I am still impressed with the record-setting numbers of Mean Green fans for both of those bowls even as they were held on a week day to boot!

That was in the BW time period

Hopefully that BW becomes a dominate thing in a very positive way

They would have to prove his redshirt at KSU was due to injury.

Yep.  It's not happening.

Regardless, at this point I think we ought to be thinking more about the contribution he can make in 2018.  Maybe he can provide a little depth by the end of the season.

I don't see how a medical "redshirt" is happening for English. I've been trying to research this a bit and found a couple of things of interst. First, the NCAA doesn't call it "redshirt" although everyone else does. You can't have voluntarily taken a regular redshirt year - if you already used a redshirt year if must have been "due to circumstances beyond your control." The coach telling you to redshirt isn't considered to be beyond your control. A third part that I found interesting with it must be during the first half of A SEASON. Not sure exactly why, but I've found multiple references to injuries during spring or fall preseason practice don't or rarely qualify. That makes no sense to me, but lot of NCAA rules make no sense. Of the various article I found, this one seems to be the most complete.

I think English will play some & they are trying to keep that under the radar.  Not really sure why if that is the case.
