I’m glad Bussey was able to find his way home...to the end zone, that is.

I see what you did. +1

They mentioned in a post-game that they made eye-contact.

I think it was while Bussey was still to Mason's left.  When the defender got in Fine's face and he couldn't see anymore, he threw it with a sense of where Bussey was going.

I assumed this was a pre-snap thing.

I didn't mean he never saw him during the entire play.  Bussey was the hot route and you can see Mason spot Bussey, then check where the defenders were, then before he could really get back to Bussey he had a defender in his grill and had to let it go before he could sync up again with Bussey, or at least that is what it looked like from the end zone view that I saw.

Just shows that games are not necessarily won on Saturday's. They've practiced that a million times over spring camp, summer camp, and all week. We just see the games. SL had said all along this team practices hard. That was proof. Like they say, luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

You've got to give props to the work Joel Filani has done with this receiving corp. These receivers are night and day from what SL & Co. inherited. It's amazing to watch them mature and grow into what they have grown into.
