Some students (such as Austin and I) are doing everything we can across campus to get people hyped for this game.

Maybe the next time ESPN College Gameday is in DFW, I will happen to see a NT Battle Flag waving from the crowd!

An approx 2 winning seasons every 10 years is our  main problem as far as generating the kind of home stadium following an almost 40,000 enrollment UNT with over a quarter a million alums should create.

DFW is a major league sports "winners town"(area) so to speak & we just have to have more winning seasons.

Hayden Fry (as I understand it) & one of his Mean Green teams will be at this game.  Maybe ol' Hay'boy can generate some karma passed down to S.L. for what should be a good college football game at fabulous Apogee Stadium.

GMG!

Welcome Back!  Where have you been hiding?

I think the market is shrinking for football.  To many kids today would rather play madden then football in the park.  They are losing their ability to socialize in person.  In my previous occupation I had to interview people for national security clearances.  I was always amazed how many of the young people would give me four social  references.  I was amazed and saddened to find out they have no personal contact with these people but instead play on line games with them.  This is who they consider their friends.  You see it everyday kids out together and not really talking but texting someone else.  I see adults do the same thing at restaurants. We have a generation of pasty white kids who hardly see the daylight and would rather kill mutant monkeys then attend a football game.  I could be totally wrong but I think this part of the problem with attendance from the students.

If someone that is a student or lives close to campus were smart, they would print off some of the comments rowdytalk.com has posted about us and our school.  Then, strategically post them around campus for people to see and stir up the hate.

That's good but I don't like the idea of trolling our own school

I'd let in all youth football teams and coaches in the area as well as any Denton ISD student and let them sit in the upper wing section for free. I know it's a Saturday night but most games are already finished. It's worth a shot! To bad we can't Denton ISD day like we do in basketball and get all those screaming kids at the game but as a teacher, I know I wouldn't sign up to chaperone them on my day off!!!

Lots of truth here..^^^^....Seems to be a growing trend as I've been had the exact same conversation with many friends and coworkers too.  Plus, I've met several with kids who don't even want their own driver's licenses.  That's amazing to me.
