Rice looks awful.  Three bad turnovers on the last three plays they have run from scrimmage.

And it just keeps going downhill.

Just tuned in, in time to see Army go up 35 - 0.  Wow, Rice might get beat worse than they beat Dodge.

Is Army really that good or is Rice really that bad?

I'd say the latter. Not even really both (Army is good but not that good), just honestly the latter.

Rice is not "committed" to football.   Bailiff won't be fired mid-season unless he does something illegal.

They've put out some mighty decent teams over the years.  How have they been doing it? (This year clearly excluded)

I think Bailiff is a pretty good coach.   Back 5-10 years ago, when the C-USA schools were still piddling around, their budget is in line with everyone else and they were competitive.   Over the past 5 years though, the C-USA schools have committed to football, for the most part, and appear to have left Rice behind, still piddling.   Bailiff trying to make lemonade out of used tires.

People have been penciling Army as a win all season long. I just don't see it. They might be a better team than they were last year. Even at home, we don't the the luxury of an extra week to prepare for the triple option like we did last year.

It really shows the lack of buy in from Rice leadership.  With the size of their endowment ($5B, or more than Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, UH, SMU, and NT combined) they could easily throw out almost any funding level they wanted... if they wanted.

Rice leadership isn't mad if Bailiff loses in CUSA as long as he graduated players.  That is what they are funding.

Army has a super vanilla schedule. They'll likely win a lot of games out of default.
