Pro Football Focus put Mayfield and junior center Creighton Barr on the Week 3 C-USA team of the week and graded their performances against Iowa. Mayfield received a grade of 84.5 and Barr received an 82, both of which were best in the conference for that week.

My Son Turner Smiley had just one catch but it was for a big gain of 41 yards.

 

Season Total: 10 Catches for 221 yards and one magnificent TD

 

Prediction: He will have a big game against UTSA....Im thinking 5 catches for 89 yards and two TD's. UTSA is going to try and smother Guyton which will lead to other players to make a big impact.

That was a huge play at a key point in the game.  I think he will have a lot more play opportunities now that everyone we play will load up on Guyton.

Trevor Moore continues to be the most reliable player on the team, which is a pretty high bar amongst a really talented offense right now.

Rico has 11 catches for 99yds and 1 great TD catch.   

Like Smiley's dad @Withers940, I also expect to see some more targets for Rico now that Guyton has emerged as a big play threat requiring more focus from opponents' defenses.

Syd "Vicious" Moore had one assisted tackle against Southern Miss.  My take is he tied up half the line to allow others to make plays.  Syd is charitable in that way when needed.

Jeffery Wilson

Career high 30 carries for 148 yards and 3 TDs. I don't believe Wilson had any fumbles either. Wilson is currently on pace to easily finish as the conferences top rusher, and 1st team All-Conference RB.

If I were in charge at C-USA, Guyton, Fine, and Wilson would have all split the offensive player of the week honor.

Darden is took over the PR duties and seems to have improved it.. also played a solid slot role behind Lawerence
