Littrell's lone bye week so far, he had the team coming out swinging against Army at West Point.

"Coming out swinging" and "Army shooting themselves in the foot with 7 turnovers" are two completely different things.

could it be our mighty "Swing" caused the turn-overs?  I was at the game, and didn't see any of the Cadets actually just handing us the ball.......think about that...

Right, because stripping the ball, and pick 6's were totally Army "shooting themselves in the foot".

Tipped-ball INTs... that is lucky.  The turnovers the defense CAUSED last year in West Point were not.

Thank you. Why is it that every time our opponent has turnovers we were lucky to win instead of us playing well and creating these opportunities?

The pick six we had was off a tipped pass? The center fumbled the snap? We didnt CAUSE all 7 turnovers.

Acting like we weren't lucky is asinine. Remember when Army didn't turn the ball over so much? They beat us

Weird picture choice on his Article. After a big win, wouldn't he pick something like one of Wilson's long runs, A big tackle on Defense, Fine Making a Throw?

It bert Frito,  what did u expect?  He's got to calm it down after he predicted us to win

but they needed over-time and two interception breaks to go their way.

pure luck, that Army team had that day.

A ball thrown into double coverage and an underthrown double reverse pass are mistakes.

A tipped pass for a pick 6 is luck coupled with *some* skill.

Nice observation on one INT out of 7 TOs.
What about taking advantage of their guys' inability to secure the ball and stripping multiple fumbles?   Luck?
What about routes being easily-recognized and jumped by Jenkins, Brooks & Gray?  Luck?

2 TO's at least were luck. The center fumbling the snap and TJ falling on it? Definitely skill there.

I'm just saying y'all are acting like we were coming off the bye and all of a sudden were a much better and more dominant football team. Luck helped us win that game. How about that touchdown to Tee Goree where the corner just fell down? Definitely skill there. I'm not saying it was all luck but to say everything that went our way in the first army was all caused by our hard work and determination is a bit of a stretch

then we basically beat Iowa 2 weeks ago, because of the TD the was tipped at the LOS by our guy and miraculously ended up in another Iowa receivers hands for a TD should not of counted because it was lucky.  That is part of the game....  Who can make fewer mistakes, or take advantage of others mistakes to 2 evenly talented teams....  Success is when preparation meets with luck...

A tipped pass is not a cause for a turnover?   Why would a center fumble a snap, could it be because he was worrying about the defense?

Turnovers are a key component of any game.   The triple option offense Army runs leads to turnovers, frequent risky handoffs, primarily focusing on the run game leads to problems when they do attempt passing.   Having seven turnovers was because NT was disrupting their running game by getting good penetration into the backfield causing fumbles and then forcing them to pass which they were obviously not good at.

What is truly asinine, is to think that the majority of turnovers are not caused by the defense.    Some defensive player has to be in position to recover that fumble or intercept that pass. Almost all fumbles are caused by contact.   If a QB throws a ball directly to a defensive player, is that luck?   Probably not, the QB was pressured, or fooled by the defensive lineup.

There is an element of luck in any football play, but the team with the better athletes and preparation is going to be a lot luckier than the other team.

Re: Army (not sure why we're even talking about this) but NT got a lot of luck in that one. fumbled punt, terrible passes from a triple option QB.

There was a defense taking advantage of turnovers, but there was also an Army offense playing uncharacteristically not good.

The other 12 games? Averaged 1.5 turnovers per game. They only lost 1 turnover during the bowl game.

We're talking about it because I'm unsure of how we'll perform after the bye, people saying we destroyed army, then my rebuttal saying we got pretty lucky.

Ah. We got lucky on both sides of the ball, and Jeff Wilson played like Jeff Wilson.

Different team, different season.

Using the bye is a weird excuse. We've been bad for a while that the chances of losing after a bye are sadly high.

Numbers.

Which is my original thought. Historically, we're terrible after a bye. I think concern, especially against one of the better teams in our conference, is warranted.

"BUT SETH LITTRELL WON AFTER HIS BYE, 7 TURNOVERS, WORLD BEATERS." Hell I hope we smoke nUTSAck by 30 when we play them. History says we won't

That's what I mean, historically we've been bad so bye or no bye, we lose games on our own (and lose games anyway).

This looks like a different team, and smells like a different team. Bye will have no effect other than having more time to look at film.
