It feels good to be pumped about the big victory but let's not get carried away here. Let's not forget that we beat Southern Mess last season too. After last week's squeaker against UAB, many thought we wouldn't win more than 1 or 2 more games. Let's just try and take it one game at a time.

Having said that, if we beat UTSA, feel free to tear down the goal posts and make conference championship game reservations.

If we did tear down the field goal posts, how would we get it out? Go up through the Northeast opening and toss it over the brick wall by the Alumni Pavilion and Frat Hill? Lol

Nope. We'd leave out by Spiriki and make a left turn to the parking lot by Victory

You don't even have to go back to last week, after the 1st qtr against Southern Miss people were anointing SL as Dodge 2.0...

If we keep teams under 40 it's better than the Dodge era.

no... it's not even close... last year we gave up 32.6 per game, this year we are playing bad and are giving up 34.6 a game...

When Dodge coached here, these are the years he was head coach for the entire season

2007:  45.1 PPG - 119th out of 120

2008:  47.5 PPG - 120th out of 120

2009:  35.6 PPG - 110th out of 120

 

People forget just how terrible we were under Dodge

so, we are currently 1 point better  on defense right now the year dodge was fired. sure hope the offence can show up every game. still  looks like dodge 2.0.

Defense could really use a Booger Kennedy type player who can change things by himself.  Hoping English can be close.

Not true. Dodge got fired 7 games into the 2010 season. We were giving up 27.7 points per game at the time. Deloach had finally gotten the defense headed in the right direction but we were decimated by injuries on  offense and Todge just ran out of time.

Littrell already has more wins and bowl appearances than Dodge(not hard to do) in 1.5 seasons.

Does he have his limitations? Absolutely. Are we getting much better? Undoubtedly so.

In 39.5% of games played one is 195% better than the other in percentage terms and 17% better in absolute numbers in the only column that matters. 

In first seventeen games coached:

2-15 (.118) vs 7-10 (.412)

In equal number of games played, one is 249% better than the other in percentage terms and 250% better in absolute numbers in the only column that matters. 

To equalize the two in terms of percentage, we need to go on a thirty-three game losing streak.

I can't wait until the day folks stop using Dodge's tenure as a barometer.   

Why on earth would anyone feel they need to compare Littrell with Dodge?  Simply because of the offensive systems?    That's as far as the comparison should go.

Well, they had to get IN to the stadium somehow unless they were dropped by helicopter, so there's got to be a way to get them OUT.
