We have 4 very winnable games left on this schedule in UTEP, Rice, Army, and Old Dominion.  The FAU, LA Tech and UTSA games are toss ups but by no means for sure losses.  With an offense that can move the ball and put up points, you are in every game.  SMU is a solid team this year, and we played awful after the 1st 2 drives of the game and I think Suttland just scored again.

90? Is that you? We don't need two of you. Nonetheless, if some want to go, who the hell are you to condemn? It's a common practice at several schools.

No, I don't consider it like winning the super bowl...But I think it's well deserved support for a team that was picked to lose by Vegas, and hung 40+ on a team with a highly ranked defense.  I'm not supporting the win, as much the effort..

How many USM fans stuck around to support their team last night?

I was there to hi five them off the bus. We should definitely welcome them back after road games, win or lose. Most of the guys were pretty nonchalant but I could tell a few guys (including Mason) were happy I showed up.

      Tulane and UNT were the only AAC schools to lose their starting QBs for the bowl. That's the difference. Mestemaker played a great game. I think a *healthy* Chandler Morris wins the game. That's just me. Mestemaker made great plays for sure but there were also several deep misses early on. Before the Coleman TD, he was 3/8. He found his groove then sputtered some then picked things up again. I hope he stays and I'd love to watch him start next season. On the flip side, we played a 25 year old QB who started all year for Texas. There's no substitute for experience and continuity. I don't think this loss indicates in any way we're stuck in neutral. I think it shows how well this staff identifies and develops offensive talent. To compete in your bowl, you either need a senior QB, a loyal QB, or to get very lucky like we did with Mestemaker.

      UNT Basketball Faces No. 21 Memphis

      MEMPHIS — The UNT men’s basketball team faces No. 21 Memphis on the road Sunday afternoon aiming to earn the program’s first road win over an AP Top 25 opponent since their 79-73 win at No. 15 Louisville on Feb. 27, 1971. Tip-off Sunday from the FedEx Forum is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPN. North Texas (10-3) is coming off a dramatic 78-75 conference opening win over UAB at home on Tuesday. The Mean Green made an 18-point comeback and senior Atin Wright sank a game winning buzzer beater to give UNT’s fourth straight victory. Sunday they face a nationally ranked Tigers (11-3) team that played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country and has beaten three nationally ranked opponents so far and earned the nation’s most quad one and quad two wins. North Texas beat Memphis, 76-66, last season in Denton in their only meeting of the year. Sunday will be the 25th all-time meeting between the two schools but the first time they’ve played in Memphis since 1983. North Texas and Memphis were both in the Missouri Valley Conference together from 1966-74. UNT left the MVC after the 1974 season and went independent. After Sunday’s road game the Mean Green return home to the Super Pit on Jan. 8 to host Rice at at 8 p.m. CT.       Let’s look at those turnovers. The first I put on him, he threw it straight to the defender (I remember saying immediately after that someone HAD to have run a bad route or fallen down for the INT to be that easy) The second one was a fumble when he was hit from the blind side after literally nobody tried to block the blitzer…a theme, by the way, during this game of defenders running free. Hard to blame the guy when he’s trying to keep his eyes downfield to make something, anything, happen to keep us in the game. The third one was a desperation heave with (if I recall correctly) 8 seconds or so left in the game with no timeouts. Again, not sure how much I knock a kid for just trying to make a play there. The bottom line is this. A kid who was making his first start since he was a high school freshman was asked to carry our team in a bowl game…and he damn near pulled it off
