BEIN Ratings for UAB at NT

Saw this link on the USM board - http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/ 

 

5K people watched NT vs UAB. Which was a 25% improvement over the FAU - Bethune game the week previous. Oof.

I wonder if they have the ability to pick up the number of people who watched after recording.

That's a shame.  I actually was happily surprised at the quality of the broadcast.

It's silly to look at those numbers in relation to all the other ones listed. beIN is the only "network" on the list that is not a widely available channel.

We did 670k for the Iowa game a week before, which of course had a lot to do with Iowa, but a lot to do with being on ESPN 2 as well.

Something to be aware of is that TV ratings are not exactly reliable, despite how industry folks view them. I would trust them even less based on the niche program that we are looking at.

Bein is not a widely available station, it is mainly known for soccer and cricket. I too was pleased with the quality of the broadcast, Donavan McNabb actually did homework on the teams unlike any ESPN crew.  The pre-game and halftime show were well done also.

Yeah I  watch a ton of soccer so I have and know BeIN sports well. Still 5K is tiny. I know they view this all as an investment into getting into CFB and probably a loss leader for a while but still.

Meh...it was a home game.   Just wait until they carry one of our away games ;-).   Agree with the earlier comments that the production was top-notch.  Really good camera work and announcers.

OK, I have Spectrum.  I have not seen the BeIn channel anywhere.....where would I find it?  That may be why viewership is not strong on this channel....and the fact I was at the game.....

wish they would show some cricket...have yet to see it on there

Never heard of BEIN until last year.  Face it people, we need to be on one of the ESPN or CBS Sports Networks.  And I don't mean ESPN3.  The CUSA Commissioner needs to do something in getting Conference games telecast on real TV.

I would prefer a Fox SportS channel.....but that discussion is for another forum.....  #MAKINGMEANGREENGREATAGAIN

I have Spectrum (dies a little inside). It is on an additional tier. For me, it was a sports+ tier.

On Uverse, Bein is in a sports package you have to pay extra for.  And I believe you can only get it if you have their highest channel tier.

Is it better to rate BeIn based on how many carriers offer them similar to recruiting?

If they're able to detect the number of devices listening to the channel on the network, then recording devices would count at time of game as they're an actively-listening device. It would not count people watch watch the recording post-game.

It's a shame it isn't more readily available.  The quality is much better than networks our games have been on in the past.

I don't know that they can detect who it listening. Even if they could, the DVR issue has been around for awhile now. Viewing is measured at the time it is viewed. If someone records a program and never watches it, then they don't count.

Bein does a great job. I would pay for their channel if they carried more UNT games.

Should add that I harassed my dad for his Sling log in so I could watch the game.
