Have we ever had a back average 8+ ypc at 4 games in season?

I don't know the stats, but frosh Jamario would be my safest bet.

If he did, I'd have thought it'd be his freshman year, but I don't remember them throwing to him much.  Here are stats from his freshman year (wow):

"2004
Was Named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year ... Led the nation in rushing (180.1 avg) and ranked fifth in scoring (11.3 avg) and set a North Texas and Sun Belt Conference record with 1,801 yards ... Set the NCAA freshman record for 200 yards games, going over that mark five times ... Tied the NCAA record for the fastest to reach 1,000 yards when he made it in seven games ... One of only three freshmen ever to rush for over 1,800 yards and the only back in the nation this season to have six 200-yard games ... Averaged 6.9 yards per carry against three Big XII Conference opponents ... Rushed for over 200 yards against five of the six Sun Belt opponents he played against and rushed for 179 against the other"

Jamario was one of the finest running backs I've ever seen in my lifetime.
