I think you tried to answer your own question just prior. "...to cause misdirection", I suppose meaning, "to confuse the offense on where the pressure is coming from".

I recall when Wade Phillips had his 3-4 defense here that Demarcus Ware would drop back into underneath coverage often so other LBs/Ss/CBs could blitz from elsewhere.

Sometimes this will cause issues/busted plays like we saw in the Wadley called-back-TD... but that's Reffett's system, and if executed correctly, it can defeat P5s (as we saw when his LAMo defense beat a Saban-led Bama team several years ago).

Yeah you're right. I think what I meant when I was talking about shading the safety over is, if you know your linebacker is gonna be in the flat on coverage on a zone blitz, why wouldn't you have safety help in case he gets exposed? McClain went the other way and it was wide open since everyone else was playing man.

I'm sure he read his keys like he was supposed to, I'm just saying what makes sense to me, then again I'm not a coach.

You're probably right, but sadly Kishawn has somewhat disappeared over the last 2 games.
It could be possible that he is one of the guys coach Littrell keeps talking about when he is stressing to "Do your job, don't try and do too much..."
