The following was compiled by Reverend Kyev Tatum, a 1987 Letterman. Athletic Department continues to differentiate from past regimes. Really making an effort to re-connect with the Letterman.

Legendary Football Player and Coach Ron Shanklin was our receivers coach at the University of North Texas. This Saturday he and other members of 1967 and 1987 teams will be honored, including his teammate Joe Greene. 
Three members of the 1987 team currently serve on the Arlington Police Department, Marcus Camper, Thomas Green and David McGinity, the current deputy chief of police.
Please join us and feel free to share your favorite UNT story during the week leading up to this historic weekend of champions at the University of North Texas. A Bright Green Light to Greatness.

Champions Weekend To Honor UNT Legends
Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony To Highlight Events
The 1987 team, coached by Corky Nelson, finished 7-5 with a 5-1 record in the Southland Conference and qualified for the postseason playoffs. North Texas earned a final ranking of No. 16 in the Div. I-AA poll before losing to No. 3 Northeast Louisiana (Louisiana-Monroe) in the playoffs. There were 13 players on the 1987 team that earned first or second team all-conference, including freshman offensive lineman Scott Bowles, who earned All-America honors in 1990 and was later inducted into the North Texas Athletics Hall of Fame and elected to the North Texas All-Century Team.

*HONORED HISTORY-  Joe Greene played on the 1967 team and his son Major Greene played on the 1987 and was crowned homecoming king one year.
