I was scared of this game before the season. However, I watched them for a good bit vs Coastal Carolina, particularly at the end, when they had real trouble closing out. And also for parts of their Ball State game. Neither opponent is great. I came away thinking that we ought to be able to move the ball on them pretty consistently on UAB. It will not be a 40 point game, but it should be a done deal by the 4th quarter. It better.

Let's be clear here. What you're saying is that UAB's coach with no real games since 2014 has taken a team coming back off a self imposed death penalty with an entirely new roster and in 3 regular season games they are on par with Littrell's squad that has a bowl game under their belt? Can we hire away UAB's coach? He seems to be some kind of magician.

And will this team that has been together for 3 games and some practices be more disciplined, better prepared and make less mistakes and penalties than our team on Saturday?

If they are.....I will be hugely disappointed.

We all need to slow down. The season just started and UAB hasn't beat any real opponent, just like we haven't either. If we had played their first three games, we would most likely be 2-1 or 3-0. I remember after Texas State's first game last season when they beat Ohio, people on here were venting about how they made the better coaching hire and they ended up finishing 2-10 and are 1-2 this year. Let's calm down and let things play out. We are upset for losing against SMU, who put up almost 40 against a top 20 ranked TCU, and 3-0 Iowa. If we lose against UAB, fine, get your pitchforks. I don't think they'll get past 4 wins this year.

I dunno guys.  Coastal is a pretty good program, went 10-2 last season albeit at a lower division (I think they are in the Belt now).  Coastal beat UMass 38-28 earlier this season as well.

To be clear, it is not an entirely new roster.  Several players remain from the bowl-eligible 2014 team, who have lost no eligibility but have continued practicing and training for the past 3 years with an FBS coaching staff.

And Bill Clark is an impressive coach, no doubt.  Without him, UAB might not have reinstated their football program.

Coastal Carolina is in the Sun Belt (an FBS team, not lower division).   They currently sit at 161 in the Sagarin ranking, updated through yesterday's games.   UNT is at (gulp) 128.  UAB is at 150.

Just don't want to overlook them (UAB) that is all I am saying.
