Okay bad read by Fine.   And the offense running in Memphis  is nothing like the offense Dickey ran here.

Has anyone ever thought that perhaps Dickey ran what he could run with the athletes he could get then?  Recruiting to Fed Ex Field and recruiting to Fouts Field (working under Helwig and RV) are not the same.

Special Teams needs such an overhaul, pathetic punt giving Iowa great field position, after running down the field previous possessions

SMU is currently up on TCU 19-7. UNT looking a lot better than last season at Iowa. Maybe we should take all of that as: this team is improved. Now if the D learns how to get off the field on third and long and 4th down, then we can actually get this upset.

Absolutely my comment wasn't a shot it was just pointing out the obvious.  With run block only OL they had and only being able to recruit good running backs I would have ran something very similar in his position

That one was on Fine.  When he sees the defender coming in untouched like that, he needs to go elsewhere or throw it away.

had he been just a second more patient that's a big plus play...40 was on a stunt and after Fine, not in coverage...play just wasn't quite spaced enough to take him out of the play on Wilson.
