No doubt these would have sold much better if we had beaten SMU, but I am glad the effort is being made.

Agreed they would have possibly, but they had this offer out there before SMU as well.

Possibly?  Being 2-0 and beating a SWC (the Ponies at that) would have meant a lot to the older fanbase.

It's amazing what hiring a graphic person has done for this department. They have sold these packages for quite a few years now but having cool graphics and emphasizing the social media aspect of those graphics has certainly made these things pop a lot more. I still think that, of all the hires WB has made, that may very well be the best one!

Would have meant a lot (to a select few alumni), yes.

If fans won't buy them after a Bowl Game, beating SMU likely won't lead to people buying season tickets.. It may lead to them coming to a game or 2, but not committing to season tickets..

Tough sell, but glad to see the effort.

I kinda wonder, since we've been a top (bottom) ten losing team for some fifteen years now, how DO you sell tickets?  Nickel beer night?  Disco demolition?  Midget placekickers? (Um, I believe they prefer to be called little kickers)

This is a semi-serious, semi-frivolous question.  No, I don't think the band uniforms are the key to success here.

I mean, to be totally honest, having done this for ten years, season tickets already paid for and in hand, I've seen one and a half games this season (I had to remove myself from Ford Stadium at halftime), even I'm not much looking forward to the next game.  I don't know if I could sell my tickets for ten bucks on craig's list right now.  It just isn't an attractive draw.

That's not a nice thing to say.  It's not pretty, or pleasant, or holding the glorious green and white to its status as symbolic deity.

But it's pretty damn true.

Back to the question.  How do you sell this thing to the general public?

Disco Demolition lol good old ChiSox

No idea how you sale them, Honestly would just be hoping they can turn it around on the field, which I believe they will.. But UNT has to offer more things to improve the value of the ticket..

As it was brought up before, things like Food Trucks always draw a crowd for unknown reasons, The Texas Rangers have done this before.. They would have area food trucks come in before game and fans came out.. Doing music concerts, and hell even do something like an art show or something, that the art kids on campus can display their art.. Maybe it brings out a few fans that would never come to the game, even if they never watch the game.. Have Scrappy run across the field like SMU, and just hope he doesn't eat S*** like the SMU kid did..

1. It would've meant a lot of a ton of alumni.

2. After a bowl loss. A 5-8 season bowl, loss.

We're always trudging through the reasons no one wants to come watch UNT. Well, we keep making excuses for all of our losses. Like the bowl game loss. To the casual fan or alum, we still went 5-8 and we still had a losing season. The diehard fans like us see it as growth and potential. The casuals still see it as another losing season.

I want to see Wren wrestle a bear on the 50-yard line at halftime

NT could win out and still have not sold out Apogee. It might get close but they aren't going to sell it out. Win..win...win...and win big and your going to have to do it several years in a row. Hopefully, if that "could" happen, WB would do a better job than RV did during the DD years to promote the team....yea I know that was the 'Sun Belt' but RV screwed that 4 yrs of winning (using the term loosely) completely up.

"Win Out" as in win the Iowa game and every CUSA game & Army, going 10-2... hosting the C-USA championship game... and not be able to sell it out?

I disagree.

When was the last time UNT was 11-1 with a win over a perennial Big10+2 contender?
Far-fetched, for sure, but I was just saying your hypothetical of "winning out", and still not being able to sell out Apogee, is wrong.
