4. What does SMU's quarterback situation look like heading into the second game of the season.

Sophomore Ben Hicks, who saw his first action when Matt Davis got hurt last season against UNT, will be the starter. He'll get the majority of the series on Saturday. But Chad Morris will try to work in Rafe Peavey and DJ Gillins, too. I would guess that Peavey gets the third series of the game this week. Gillins got that series last week but was mainly a runner against SFA while Peavey completed all three of his passes, including a 72-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Benson. I'd expect to see more Peavey than Gillins this week but all three could see the field at some point.

 

Why would Morris pull a starter after 2 series to play another QB...and then another?   This sounds like uncertainty/weakness for SMU at the most critical position on the field.
