That game almost did not get played that night.  The game was covered by a local metroplex station and about 30 minutes before kickoff the facility manager came up to me on the field and told me that they could not get the lights to come on at Fouts.  Luckily, by kickoff they had managed to get the lights to work.  I've always wondered what would have happened if they were not able to get the lights on...forfeit or reschedule?  It was a 6pm kickoff, so light were very important.  Later in the season, the lights gave up the ghost and our final home game vs. Northeast Louisiana had to be moved to an afternoon kickoff.

Anyone else notice that the SMU players ran up to the fight but then stopped and watched while the UNT players were jumping on the pile throwing punches?  Guess they did want to break a nail, but gee they looked tough.
